When using your wood stove for the first time, it is advisable to give it a big blaze so that the stove gets used to the high temperatures and the paint settles on it.
Some odor and haze may be emitted from the materials, but it will disappear quickly and will only occur during the first few burns. Be sure to ventilate the room well during this period.
This may occur the first couple of times the stove is used. It stops when the stove has reached its maximum temperature. Avoid touching the paint on the stove before lighting the first time and before the stove has cooled down completely.
When lighting the stove for the first time, it is also recommended that you open and close the stove door regularly to prevent the door seal from sticking to the frame.
Remember to open and close the door slowly when putting logs in the stove so as not to create excess pressure in the flue and prevent smoke from coming out and invading the room.
