How to properly clean the glass of my stove

When in use, the glass of your stove or fireplace can quickly turn black, preventing you from fully enjoying the beauty of the flame. Here are our 3 recommendations for a perfect view of the flames!

With a glass cleaner

There are special products for cleaning the glass of your fireplace, specially designed to remove soot and tar quickly and effectively.

We recommend Magic Feu products, as they are produced in an ecologically responsible way and are among the most effective. What's more, they're easy to use:

  1. Apply product to a cloth/cleaning paper
  2. Clean the glass (it can be warm, but not hot)
  3. Repeat the process if it doesn't get the glass clean. If this product isn't powerful enough, you can also use the more powerful glass stripper.

Cleaning with ash

This grandmotherly technique works surprisingly well on wood-burning stoves. The stove must be cold before you start cleaning.

  1. Take a cloth and dampen it with water.
  2. Dip a corner of the cloth in fine ash taken directly from your stove's ashtray
  3. Apply the water + ash mixture directly to the glass.
  4. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any residual traces
