Lighting my stove properly

Stacking the wood

Place a few logs of the right size in the stove. To make the fire last longer, you can complete the pile with smaller logs. Stack them perpendicular to the larger logs. Remember to split large pieces of wood. It's hard to get a fire going with a whole log.

Stacking kindling logs

Stack a large number of kindling logs on top of the logs. It's important that there's air between the pieces of wood. Otherwise it will be harder for the fire to take hold.
