Room thermostat Communication failure - E0004.10

The E0004.10 alarm appears on Rika pellet stoves when the connection between the room thermostat and the electronic board is interrupted.

Resolution

  1. Check the batteries in the room thermostat (radio), these should be changed regularly (every 4 to 6 months on average).
  2. Check the color of the LED on the radio receiver on the heater; green = battery is ok; orange = battery needs to be replaced; red = battery is dead.
  3. Check if the wire from the thermostat or its receiver is properly connected to the stove (at the back of the stove).
  4. If the error message appears, you can use the heater again.

If the error occurs again with a wireless thermostat, it is possible that another electronic device that also works with radio waves is interfering with the sensor signal or that the sensor is placed too far away from the heater (max. 3 to 5m, without obstacles).

If the radio sensor is placed further than 5m, behind an obstacle, wall or if the error occurs frequently, it is possible to increase the signal strength. To do this, open the wireless probe (as for replacing the batteries), and set the white and red DIP switch number 4 to ON.
